Dont expect too much from Arusha Airport as its not that big and its not a international airport. It only has domestic flights like from Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Dodoma. But you can have Kilimanjaro International Airport which is near to Arusha. For arrival you can have good experience for luggage as they dont have luggage belt they will bring it on Bajaj see the pictures for experience. This is the airport only for small chartered flights not for big flights.During Departure you can have small restaurant for snacks and Sodas and soft drinks.
Airport is fine, our plane stopped here on the way to Zanzibar to refuel. Our bags were taken off the plane to go through security (after already going through security at our first airport in the Serengeti...??). Basically, the porters insisted on assisting us with our bags, and then were fairly obnoxious in shaking us down for tips.
Small airport, they take your luggage to the door before exit and you have to pass a security luggage scan then you’re out. The airport is like 20 minutes to the city center, you can take a taxi outside and pay aprox. 20,000.00 tzc (9 American dollars), always bargain because the taxi driver’s exceeds prices.
I would stick with Arusha airport. The other value to this is that as it is west of town, if flights are daytime, then you can turn left when you leave the airport and head straight to Tarangire or first park rather than struggle with the traffic in Arusha. It will easily cut off 1.5 - 2 hours off that segment. But if you must go into Arusha, then it is a much shorter drive than from JRO.I would stick with Arusha airport. Great..easy to reach from city center small planes available..
New main terminal under construction, but waiting area is under a roof, which is helpful at noon
Very small but practical airport. The flights to the Serengeti depart from here. You can bring your water bottles to the airport. There are souvenir shops and a cafeteria.
It one of busy airports in Tanzania, tourist arrives so as to go to see wild animals in different places such as seronera, kurro, sasakwa, Lake manyara , yeye, and many other places
All flights from The Bush appear to pass through this airport. They take all bags off the plane (even if you are taking the same plane on another leg) for an x-ray security sweep. Depending on the airline they also make you sit outside, under a tent, to wait for your next flight which is very annoying in my opinion since you have to deal with aircraft engine fumes and flight noise.
It is simplifying the transportation system as people tend to reach their place more rapidly within the country.
We didn‘t feel safe. A lot of employees wanted to get a tip. It seems that luggage won‘t get to final destination if you don‘t give a tip to them. Flight was at 23/09/ afternoon. Some employees were unfriendly.
Arusha Airport is a small Airport located near to Arusha city for local flight going and coming from Zanzibar and Serengeti. Also you can hire a private flight to visit some attractions like Mafia island and many other.
Everything ok. Small local airport on the region of Arusha where you can take small planes to other cities in Tanzania, and to Zanzibar island. And also big plane of Qatar to Doha. It is very small and there is no sitting area with A/C. The sitting is outdoors. One thing I found misterious is that some rocks I bought, they didn’t let me take back home. There in no restaurant or cafeteria. But you can buy some snacks and drinks.A few small souvenir shops where to buy a gift, although it’s more expensive than other local place around.
Great Airport for all the local flights to and fro destinations like Serengeti National park, Zanzibar, Mwanza, Dar es Salaam, Manyara , Ngorongoro and so many other local airport. The airport is great for pick and drop off the vehicles for the self drive car rental/hire clients and other tourists intends to do Safaris and Kilimanjaro tre
A small, clean airporr but employees openly asked for a tip, twice! I felt something like if we dont tip, we might not be able to fly! 🥺
Good organized, service and plenty parking.
Its good, they renovated it, good security, good services
Flying with Air Tanzania 4 hours late, they transfer us with a bus to kili airport. No communication / information
Arusha Airport is an airport serving Arusha, the capital of the Arusha Region of Tanzania. The airport is currently undergoing an expansion, which includes a new apron and terminal building. The Arusha non-directional beacon is located at the west end of the field.
The yransit through Arusha Airort was smooth and efficient. Our bags were brought very quickly . I was super impressed.
Arusha Airport is undergoing major renovation as far as roads and parking area is concerned. Arusha Airport, I would say another major internal hub especially catering for all National Parks and Zanzibar. We would expect Air Tanzania to land at the Arusha Airport if all the renovations are complete. This would be great.
I have been going to this Airport for about 15 years now.Congratulations for the construction of the new road and the AIRPOT .Many thanks at least now our guests will fill good it has been a long journey but God is good always

Good parking space, extended running truck and the security seems satisfying.
Not that much organized. One hand soap for couple of water taps.
So nicely, but for future am expecting the airport area to be widely for accomodate international flyovers.
Looks very appealing with newly developed parking, garden and approach road....
Good small light plane airport ,near the Arusha town .good for flying to Zanzibar and Serengeti

It has a rustic safari type look for an airport
...although everything seems very chaotic, the transfer and boarding and disembarking worked great, why an additional security check including luggage inspection is necessary for a domestic flight, no one could explain...there is even something similar to a lounge...a tent right on the apron ....so a very special experience...
Arusha Airport is centrally located, for example, safaris in Serengeti and Ngoro-Ngoro. The airport is closer to Kilimanjaro Airport, with good connections to both Dar es Salam and Zanzibar through various operators. There are mainly smaller aircraft using the airport. There are not so big conditions and you are used to international airports, so Arusha airport appears relatively simple. Café and tourist shop.
A small local airport located a few kilometers from the center of Arusha. Mainly domestic connections are offered from the airport. Check-in is very smooth. Taxi to the city center for around $ 5-8.
This is Africa, poor but clean
An open field in rapid criticism It is best to pass the examination to sit a little more comfortable doing the maximum in terms of service another experience
Small, simple airport.
