The car was absolutely brilliant and all locals congratulated us to that choice.Beside that we got an perfect introduction to the car and our contact person (Sarf) planned the trip with us.Overall the service was perfect and the car in a good condition! We didnt had any problems on our trip and did really enjoy it.

We booked a car from Fortes for 9 days for self driving and were extremely satisfied with the entire experience.We got a Land Cruiser which was managing our 1300km trip across 4 national parks really well. We had quite some rain / muddy roads (it’s rain season after all) and were impressed how effortless the car managed everything.Don’t expect a very modern car, it’s still Tanzania :) but all cars seemed well maintained and totally trustworthy.Special highlight was the friendly and professional help from Sarf who is running the place. We couldn’t be happier as the handover of the car was nice and detailed and he was available all the time via WhatsApp for any kind of questions we had. Not only about the car itself but also for hotel recommendations.I can only highly recommend this place. If you are self driving I would also recommend to discuss hotel ideas with Sarf as he knows the parks and extremely well and will give you honest suggestions which hotels are in good spots and easy to reach. You can still book by yourself and he is not earning a commission for that and we always felt he truly wanted us to have a fantastic trip - which we did!We also met another self driving couple along the way which booked a cheaper option from another company. Their car broke on day one...

Our experience with Fortes Car Hire was excellent. We decided last minute to do a small safari on the backend of climbing Kilimanjaro, we reached out to Sarf from Fortes and he was awesome. He not only set us up with a great car and driver, but also gave us great advice on where to go, how to pay the park entrance fees, etc. He and his driver were extremely helpful and patient. Next time we are in Tanzania we will not hesitate to use Fortes again

We can highly recommend Fortes Car Hire in Arusha. Their service, cars and drivers are excellent!Our plan was to organise a Serengeti Trip on our own (5 person), as we did not wanted to be in a large group and preferred to make our own choices where to go. With the help of Fortes and especially the organiser Sarf, we created an itinerary for five days, including Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Lake Natron. Without the help and tips from Sarf, we would have not been able to organise this trip. He does an excellent job to make you feel comfortable, is always friendly and helps wherever he can!From Fortes, we rented a 7 seater Stretch Land Cruiser. Especially the pop-up roof makes game viewing so much more enjoyable and is a must! Our driver Jonas was not just a driver, but also a guide and became a part of the group, with excellent knowledge about the area, roads, animals and people. His jokes and laughter also made this trip even more enjoyable.The car was in great condition, and we never had a problem or breakdown. It included even some extras, such as electric plugs to charge your phone or camera and a fridge for some cold drinks! Our driver Jonas knew the car well and checked it every day. And yes, the roads are rough, be prepared for some free African back massage!In summary we can highly recommend Fortes Car hire for your next Safari and we would go back to them immediately!

Booked a six-day self-drive safari with Fortes and were completely satisfied! The communication with Sarah in advance was more than satisfactory, everything could be clarified. When we arrived in Arusha, we were looked after very well. All the staff was very friendly. The camping car - a Toyota Landcruiser - had 120,000 kilometers on the display. What we have read at other rentals is really little. During the 6 days there were no problems with the car, it always ran flawlessly and took us everywhere with ease. We would book with you again in a heartbeat!
