If you love art and culture as much as I do, youll definitely feel at home. The cultural center is rich in culture and art and you can also get souvenirs from the shops there.

Totally worth the visit, it has a wide selection of African art, mostly from Tanzania. All items are overpriced but you can easily negotiate.

A really excellent facility in Arusha for both tourists and collectors; free entry and lots of beautiful things to look at (in a wonderful Frank Lloyd Wright style building), no pressure to buy, but everything available to buy if you are interested - including genuine African antiques and really wonderful artifacts. Definitely should be a part of your Arusha itinerary.

Go and look. Dont buy anything. Prices are higher more than in 10 times than they should. Go in mto wa mbu, there will be 2 carving shops on both sides of the road. You will see, they have bridges made of palettes. One of them carve inside (tarangire side), try to get items for 30% of initial price they tell you. I got there big ebony giraffe and big ebony elephant for 150k, and I overpaid. This could cost 120k.

While the Cultural Heritage Center boasts some amazing cultural treasures from around Africa, visitors get the feeling that theyve been herded to a much travelled tourist trap. As such, visitors should be aware of this and calibrate their expectations accordingly. However, for those interested in purchasing cultural items, there is a wide array of options and vendors who largely seem to be selling authentic wares.

The most modern place in Arusha. You can buy various things including souvenirs, and there is a restaurant for meals. When the Jane Goodal Museum opens in late February 2020, it will be a must-visit place in Arusha.

A place with history. The Cultural Heritage Center shows the art history of the country in an impressive exhibition that combines a mixture of paintings, carvings, historical masks and the famous Tree of Life. The café in front of it offers delicious sandwiches and good Wi-Fi for stubborn children while admiring the aura of the place.
